By means of Resolution 40925 of December 31st, 2019, the Ministry of Mines and Energy (“MME”), in compliance with the provisions of Decree 1073 of 2015, adopted the new Basic Mining Format (“FBM”) seeking to comply with the purposes of the Colombian Mining Information System - SIMCO.
Taking into account that Decree 1073 of 2015 establishes that the Integral Mining Management System (“SIGM”) will be the only technological platform to be used for the filing and management of the proceedings carried out by the National Mining Agency ("ANM"), through this resolution the MME decided that the 2019 FBM must be filled out in accordance to with the information established for this purpose in Annex 1 of the resolution, and submitted within the two (2) following months of the date on which the ANM informs the start up of the FBM module in the SIGM, which, in any case, should occur before July 1, 2020.
Furthermore, in the aforementioned resolution, the MME, among others, decided that:
- The FBM would be in accordance with the format attached to Resolution 40925 of 2019.
- The FBM shall be submitted in ordinary annuities within the first 10 days of February of the following year, with the information regarding the period between January - December of the immediately preceding year.
- The FBM for periods prior to 2019 or that need to be adjusted, shall be submitted through the existing technological platform (SI MINERO), or in the format established for the applicable validity. Nevertheless, once the FBM module is put into production in the SIGM, the above must be carried out through such platform.
