1. Reduction of the legal working hours: how will it happen?
The reduction of the legal working hours will be carried out progressively starting in 2023, as follows:

2. When will the change take place?
According to the table above, only until 2026 the legal working hours will be reduced to 42 hours.
Consequently, until December 31st of 2022, the legal working hours will remain exactly the same, and nothing will change in this regard.
3. Employment accruals
The reduction of the legal working hours will not affect the employees’ salaries, statutory fringe benefits nor the payment of any other employment accrual.
4. Exemption
The reduction in working hours exempts the employer from applying article 21 of Law 50 of 1990 and the paragraph of article 3 of Law 1857 of 2017.
