On March 19th, 2020, through Circular No.202010000104, the Superintendence of Public Services issued recommendations to the departmental and municipal leaders to guarantee the continuity of the provision of public domestic services due to the declaration of emergency by COVID-19. Given the mobility restriction measures that several cities and municipalities in the country have adapted, said representatives were asked to implement the necessary measures to ensure the operation and performance of all agents associated with the provision of domiciliary public services.
Among the most important recommendations are the following:
- Allow the free circulation of vehicles such as tank trucks, Liquefied Petroleum Gas distributors, among others.
- Allow the operation of Liquefied Petroleum Gas dispensers in cylinders.
- Guarantee security measures on the infrastructure associated with domestic public services.
- Allow mobilization of raw materials associated with the operation of infrastructure of domestic public services.
- Allow the transit of officials and contractors related to this type of services.
- Seek the timely transfer of resources from the General Participation System.
- Coordinate with the companies that collect and transport solid waste that cannot be used, to determine the public areas with high traffic that must be served on a weekly basis and the need to determine additional frequencies.
- Coordinate with the public service companies the measures to comply with the provisions issued by the National Government in the framework of the declaration of a State of Economic, Social and Ecological Emergency throughout the National territory.
