This is the roadmap for climate action in Latin America and the Caribbean (2021 2025)
This document sets out the potential opportunities for the World Bank Group to contribute in building resilience to the impacts of climate change, achieving national mitigation targets and facilitating the transition to low-carbon economies, as well as supporting green recovery and strengthening competitiveness, in order to achieve long-term economic growth.
According to the roadmap, the WBG's priorities will be: landscapes, agriculture, food, energy and transport systems; and cities. Transversal areas include actions at the level of the general economy and support for vulnerable populations. Key objectives include allocating an average of 35% of the loan portfolio to climate finance over the next five years, and directing at least 50% of climate finance from the International Development Association ("IDA") and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development ("IBRD") to adaptation.
Ministry of Transportation issued guidelines to solve simple crashes on roads
The Ministry of Transportation issued Circular 20224000000057 of 2022 to provide instructions for dealing with simple crashes, in which only material damages are present, addressed to traffic authorities and insurance companies, in order to avoid interruptions to traffic on the roads and maintain safety.
Within the instructions, it is emphasized that in traffic accidents in which only material damages are present, regardless of whether the vehicles involved are insured or not, drivers must remove them immediately, as well as any element that may interrupt traffic, after collecting the evidentiary material of the accident. It should be noted that the imposition of summonses will not be applicable when it is materially impossible to remove the vehicles, or when the accident generates a spill of substances or elements that must be removed by trained personnel.
