MinEnviroment (“Minambiente”) updates the Environmental Policy for the Integral Management of Hazardous Waste.

The Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development presented the update of the Environmental Policy for the Integral Management of Hazardous Waste and the Action Plan corresponding to the period 2022 to 2030, which constitutes a roadmap. 

The document contains a reference framework, diagnosis and the policy. The main objective is to continue strengthening the integral management of Hazardous Waste (“RESPEL”- Diminutive in Spanish), based on the recognition of the needs of the different groups of interests and the environmental problems associated with their generation and management, in order to protect the environment and the human health, thus contributing to the country's sustainable development.

Modifications on the obligation to submit periodic information during the restructuring agreements

The Superintendency of Companies issued an External Circular addressed to legal representatives, accountants, fiscal auditors and companies that are in negotiation or execution of a restructuring agreement in which they hold the status of nominator, on the obligation to submit periodic information.

The Ministry of Mines and Energy and the National Mining Agency (“ANM”- Acronym in Spanish) announced the opening of the reception of offers to apply to the coal Strategic Mining Areas ("AEM"- Acronym in Spanish), which will take place on May 25, 2022. Additionally, those interested in accessing visits scheduled for the AEM that were offered must meet the minimum conditions established in the protocol defined by the ANM.

Companies interested in visiting the offered areas must express their intention, by writing to promocion@anm.gov.co , no later than May 19, 2022. Only those companies that are enabled or in process of being enabled in accordance with Resolution 083 of 2021, modified by Resolution 115 of 2021, will be able to access the visit.
