Jaison Alexander Vega Laiton
Lawyer and Specialist in Financial Law from Universidad de Los Andes, Specialist in Public Law from Universidad Pontificia Javeriana and LL.M. from New York University School of Law. As an associate in the Infrastructure and Public Utilities and Banking and Financial Services teams at Brigard Urrutia, he is responsible for advising domestic and foreign clients in relation to the structuring, negotiation, financing, tendering and contractual management of infrastructure projects.
Prior to joining Brigard Urrutia, he served as an advisor in the legal office and the Public Credit and National Treasury Department of the Ministry of Finance, the Legal Vice-Presidency of the National Infrastructure Agency, and in the Financial and Fiscal and Governance and Anti-Corruption units of the International Monetary Fund in Washington, D.C. In these positions, he advised governmental institutions on issues related to risk distribution and bankability of infrastructure projects, the promotion of competition in public procurement processes, and the drafting, issuance and constitutional and fiscal review of resolutions, decrees, bills, laws, and constitutional reforms.
