Daniel Duque Estévez
Daniel is a lawyer from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and holds a postgraduate degree in Taxation from Universidad del Rosario. He graduated with honours from the Master of Laws (LL.M.) program at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he received the Masin Family Gold Award in the Federal Income Tax class. He also has an International Financial Reporting Standards - IFRS diploma from the Universidad Sergio Arboleda.
As a member of the tax team, Daniel advises national and foreign clients on issues related to local taxes, tax planning, application of treaties to avoid double taxation and compliance with formal tax obligations. He advises clients on corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions and participates in the planning of legal defence strategies against controversies that arise with tax authorities. Likewise, he is a member of the Compensation, Benefits and Pensions team in which she advises organizations and employees on tax aspects of payroll, expatriates, permanent establishments, stock options and retirement plans.
Daniel has also taught Tax Law in the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota, and served as professor in Double Taxation Treaties and assistant professor in Corporate Law and International Business Law.
