Vaccination certificate as mandatory for public and private events. New aid to the economic recovery and reactivation
Through the Decree 1408 of 2021 the Government has determined that it will be mandatory to request the vaccination certificate for public and private events, as well as for accessing to bars, restaurants, cinemas, sport events, theme parks, museums among others.
The decree is issued as complete vaccination schemes confirmed has raised to 21.435.244, and the doses distributed raises to 47.499.157 in the country, with a challenge to have 14 million additional people with complete vaccination schemes for a total of 35 million of complete vaccination schemes.
Different industries have pronounced over the decree, arguing the difficulty of the request of the vaccination certificate as mandatory for certain activities as restaurants, cinemas, events or commerce facilities due to the capacity restrictions that still apply for those activities, which should be adjusted in order to fulfill the obligation that the decree stablishes for the owners, administrators, or organizers of the on-site events.
Some experts support the decree as it will provide additional incentives for the people to get a full vaccination scheme, as well as provide a higher consumer’s trust to attend to public places, promote consumption and economic recovery.
