Elimination of negative PCR test requirement to enter Colombia

Through a press release this Wednesday, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection broadcasted details about the process of social, economic and cultural reactivation in the midst of the third peak of the pandemic that the country is experiencing, which has led to new records of contagion.

As of June 2nd, 2021, 27,000 new cases were registered, a staggering number mainly driven by the lack of social distancing in the protests.

Considering the Government’s urgency to recover the losses produced by the pandemic and as a social response to the unrest, it determined that there will be no more negative PCR tests required for entry. Thus, this measure seeks to incentives the tourism industry and allow Colombians to return to the country without this requirement. Likewise, the prior registration in the app “CoronaApp” is also no longer applicable.
