President of the Republic resumes regulatory functions in the public services field

By means of Decree 227 of 2023, the President of the Republic reassumed the general functions delegated to the Energy and Gas Regulatory Commission ("CREG" ) and the Drinking Water and Basic Sanitation Regulatory Commission ("CRA" ), for a term of 3 months. For the exercise of these functions, it may request the technical support of the commissions or other entities of the sector; for their part, the regulatory commissions will retain the function of issuing specific administrative acts.

The Decree is effective as of its publication and expressly states that it is applicable to the general regulatory processes that are in process at the time of the entry into force of this dispositions.
