According to Article 8 of Decree 491 of 2020, all training and retraining certificates issued to employees who perform work at heights with falling risk that had expired on March 12 of 2020, day on which the health emergency was declared, shall be understood to be automatically extended for up to 1 month after having overcome the emergency.
Consequently, the employer must ensure that, once terminated the health emergency, the employee keeps the training and retraining certificate up to date. Likewise, the employer must continue adopting preventive measures for safe work at heights and respecting current regulations on this field during the health emergency.
Moreover, the employee must attend all retraining sessions programmed by the employer and satisfactorily approve all evaluations, after the health emergency has passed, complying with regulations of safe work at heights.
