On March 16, 2020 the Superintendence of Notary and Registry instructed the applicable measures for Colombia's Notary' offices aimed to prevent and mitigate the impact of Coronavirus COVID-19.
The mandatory measures will be enforceable until May 30, 2020 and are, among others, the following:
- Suspend the use of fingerprint in procedures carried out by Notary Offices.
- Limit the entrance to the notary's office to only one user per procedure. In case of queues to enter the notary's office, a distance of no less than two meters must be maintained between each user.
- Suspend notarial services in clinics and hospitals, as well as home services, except for the cases listed by the Superintendence of Notary and Registry under said instruction.
- Suspend the provision of notarial services on Saturdays and Sundays.
