Juan Sebastián Mejía González

Juan Sebastián is a senior associate of the firm's Banking and Financial Services team. He is a lawyer from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana with a specialization in Financial and Securities Law from the same university. Additionally, he holds an LL.M. (Master of Laws) in International Business and Economic Law from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., where he graduated with academic distinction and was recognized in the Dean's List. He also obtained the Securities & Financial Law Certificate from Georgetown University Law Center.

His practice has focused on the financial sector and capital markets, advising financial institutions, securities issuers, corporate clients and domestic and foreign investors on transactional and regulatory matters. Prior to joining Brigard Urrutia, Juan Sebastián was a Foreign Associate in the Securities & Capital Markets team at Paul Hastings in New York.
