Juan Sebastian Panesso

Juan Sebastian Panesso is a lawyer graduated from the Universidad de los Andes with specialized studies in International Business Law from the same university and in Environmental Law from Universidad Externado de Colombia.  Juan Sebastian has more than ten years of experience in which he has served as a lawyer for companies in different sectors of the economy, including technology, mining and hydrocarbons.  In recent years, Juan Sebastian has focused his career in the public sector, specifically in the Corporación Autónoma Regional del Atlántico where he worked as a lawyer in the Environmental Management Sub-directorate.

Juan Sebastian has led interdisciplinary teams in charge of negotiating and resolving socio-environmental conflicts with interest groups within the framework of environmental licensing processes, a focus that has allowed him to participate in prior consultation processes and environmental public hearings. Juan Sebastian has litigated before different authorities to defend the interests of his clients within environmental sanction processes, as well as protective or public actions.

Among the main professional achievements of Juan Sebastián, he was recognized by the Legal 500 for belonging to one of the best legal departments in Colombia in 2019 and was the lawyer in charge of advising the first private cadastral operator in Colombia in the execution of the contract entered with the District of Barranquilla for its cadastral updating.
