Aída Margarita Solorza Cortés
Margarita Solorza is a lawyer from Universidad del Rosario, specialized in environmental law from the same university and has a Master of Laws - LLM from the University of California, Davis.
Margarita has 16 years of experience in environmental law and Oil & Gas. She has worked in different law firms and hydrocarbon companies. In her most recent experience, Margarita worked in a boutique environmental law firm, where she served as Coordinator of Administrative and Sanctioning Processes advising and representing mining, manufacturing and oil companies, among others, in various administrative processes and litigation, and corporate environmental issues.
Subsequently, she worked as Legal Counsel in a Canadian company that was later acquired by a Spanish hydrocarbons company, where she advised on various upstream, midstream and downstream issues.
Before joining BU, Margarita worked as Senior Associate and later as Senior Counsel in an international law firm where she advised different clients in the infrastructure, mining, hydrocarbons, manufacturing and other sectors in regulatory, corporate environmental, litigation and sanctioning processes.
Since 2023 Margarita is a professor of environmental law at the Faculty of Jurisprudence of the Universidad del Rosario.
