BIOSEGURIDAD

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection issued Resolutions 735 and 739 adopting the biosecurity protocols for the control and management of COVID-19 risk in the provision of services of call centers, contact centers, technical support centers, data processing centers, shared services center, including business process outsourcing, and in delivery services, courier and digital platforms, and the following activities of the trade sector: 

  • maintenance and repair of vehicles and motorcycles, their parts, pieces and accessories;
  • wholesale trade in building materials, hardware, paints, glass products, plumbing and heating equipment and materials;
  • wholesale trade of household appliances and equipment;
  • Retail trade of hardware items, paints, and glass products in specialized stores; and
  • Retail trade of books, newspapers, materials and stationery items and supplies in specialized stores.

 

These protocols are complementary to the general biosecurity protocol adopted through Resolution 666 of 2020. 

In the provision of services of call centers, contact centers, technical support centers, data processing centers, shared services center, including business process outsourcing, and in delivery services, courier and digital platforms, this protocol is also complementary to the measures adopted by those responsible for each establishment. 


The biosecurity protocol adopted for these activities includes the following measures:

2.4.    Delivery services and courier as a consequence of trade through digital platforms
2.4.1.    Locative measures 
2.4.1.1.    Maintenance and disinfection 
2.4.1.2.    Working tools and equipment
2.4.1.3.    Personal protection elements 
2.4.2.    Human capital 
2.4.2.1.    Interaction with third parties such as suppliers, clients, allies
2.4.2.2.    Recommendations for clients of delivery companies, couriers’ entities and digital platforms operators.

Monitoring of compliance with this protocol is in charge of municipal or district secretariats or entities that belong to the economic activity of the municipality or district in which each plant operates. This, regardless the surveillance conducted by the Ministry of Work regarding compliance with obligations by employers or by any another authority in the executions of its duties. 

For the activities of the commercial sector listed above, this protocol is also complementary to the measures implemented by those responsible for the trade activities. 

The biosecurity protocol adopted for this sector includes the following measures:

2.    Additional measures for the trade sector, maintenance and repair of vehicles and motorcycles, their parts, pieces, and accessories (CIIU 45)

Monitoring of compliance with this protocol is in charge of the Secretariat or municipal or district entity that belongs to each economic activity from the municipality or district in which each activity is conducted. This, regardless the surveillance conducted by the Ministry of Work regarding fulfillment of obligations by employers nor to the powers of other authorities.
