The price of the USD in Colombia, around COP $4.000 per 1 USD, is the highest so far, generating a devaluation of the COP on a percentage of 18,94% since 1 January of 2020 and 21,47% since a year ago. 

However, during last week the price fluctuated in reasonable averages, compared with previous weeks. 

The Board of Directors of the Colombian Central Bank, decided to reduce the interest rate from 4,25% (in force since April 2018) to 3,75%.
 

TRM

The Board of Directors of the Colombian Central Bank issued during last weeks some measures in order to ensure the liquidity of dollars and pesos in Colombia, by the mechanisms of auction, of: 

  • Swaps amounting to USD 800M. 
  • Non-delivery forwards amounting to USD 2.000M. 
  • Repos amounting to COP 23.5 billions. 

These mechanisms are opened to financial entities, including local banks, insurance entities, administrator of trust, and administrator of pension funds, among others similar entities.
