The Ministry of Health and Social Protection issued Resolution 993 of 2020, adopting the biosecurity protocol for the risk management and control of COVID-19 in activities related to the training and competition of the professional footballers. 

Scope of application 

This protocol applies to:

i.    Professional footballers, coaches and the logistics staff minimum required to sport´s practice, linked to the clubs affiliated to the Dimayor and duly recognized by the Colombian Football Federation.

ii.    It is also applying to the people who are liable of the sporting venues, where the football sport´s practice takes place.

Protocol´s nature 

This protocol is complementary to the general biosecurity protocol adopted through Resolution 666 of 2020, to the protocol designed for the training of high-performance athletes, professionals and recreational, and the other measures that the Colombian Football Federation deems necessary. 

Protocol´s content

  1. The implementation of this biosecurity protocol requires a joint – work among departmental and municipal sports bodies. 
  2. To the returning of the sports normality a model of phases has been adopted based on the obtaining of the optimum athletes´ physical shape to face the final stage of the competition and limiting the arising of injuries resulting from the physical deconditioning.

    3.1.1.    Phase 0: planning
    3.1.2.    Phase 1: isolation
    3.1.3.    Phase 2: health condition
    3.1.4.    Phase 3: training low risk
    3.1.5.    Phase 4: specific training 
    3.1.6.    Phase 5: competition
     

Competition´s approval 

The returning to the competition as was determined in phase 4 of this protocol will be only conducted once it has been duly authorized by the Government. 

Monitoring of protocol compliance 

Monitoring of compliance with this protocol lies on the municipal or district municipalities where each football club functions. This, regardless the surveillance conducted by the Ministry of Work regarding compliance with obligations by employers or by any another authority in the execution of its duties.
