Nicolás Alonso
Senior associate of the Banking and Financial Services practice group at Brigard & Urrutia. Lawyer (JD) from the Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá D.C., Colombia) and specialist in financial and securities law from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Bogotá D.C., Colombia). He is currently in the process of obtaining his law degree (JD) in Brazil from the University of São Paulo-USP.
He worked for two (2) years at the international law firm Pinheiro Neto Advogados in São Paulo, Brazil, in M&A and international financing transactions, in the incorporation of Brazilian financial entities and fintechs, in advising private equity funds on their investments in fintechs and in various regulatory and cryptoactive matters.
He is currently, and has served for more than three (3) years, as a Professor of the Specialization in Fintech Law at the University Externado de Colombia and has written several articles for the International Banking Association (IBA) on financial regulation and technology deveolpment in the financial sector. Nicolás is part of the International Banking Association.
He joined the firm in January 2017 and has more than eight (8) years of experience in financial and banking law, securities regulations, structured finance, project finance, and aeronautical law.
