Head of the Environment and Sustainable Business Team and member of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Team of Brigard Urrutia, Mr. Tejeiro holds a J.D and a Master´s Degree in Law from the Universidad de los Andes (Colombia), an LLM in Environmental and Energy Law from K.U Leuven (Belgium), a postgraduate degree on Environmental Law from UFGRS (Brazil), and a postgraduate degree on Electricity and Gas Regulation from Universidad Externado de Colombia (Colombia). 


Mr. Tejeiro advises national and international clients in matters related to sustainability of projects and activities, including the representation of clients in environmental litigation, advising on environmental tax benefits, and structuring projects and green business. Regarding renewable energy, Mr. Tejeiro advises national and international clients in connection with renewable energy and energy efficiency projects from a regulatory perspective, particularly environmental and electricity law.

He has served as legal counsel, researcher and lecturer in matters related to environmental law and renewable energy, occupying positions within NGOs, research institutes and law firms in Europe and Latin America. He is author of several publications in Colombia and abroad in environmental and renewable energy law and has been appointed as lecturer in several universities across Colombia.

Experience

Brigard Urrutia´s associate, he joined the firm in August 2014. He worked as a law fellow of Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroek Krikpatrick in Brussels, Belgium, as well as researcher at the Center for International Environmental Law – CIEL in Geneva, Switzerland. Additionally, Guillermo served as legal advisor on international environmental law at the environmental boutique Trindade Lavratti Direito Ambiental and was appointed as Technical Coordinator of a research project at the Institute “Law for a Green Planet” in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

Educational Background

Lawyer from Universidad de los Andes, he holds a master in Law from the same university. He also holds an LL.M. Programme in Environmental and Energy Law from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven – K.U Leuven  and a postgraduate degree in Environmental Law from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul – UFRGS and a postgraduate degree in Electric Energy and Gas from Universidad Externado de Colombia.
