
Guillermo Tejeiro Gutiérrez
Director of the Environment and Sustainable Business Team and co-leader of the Brigard Urrutia´s ESG and Impact Team, with more than 15 years of experience as legal advisor, researcher and speaker on matters related to environmental law, renewable energy law and sustainability . He has held positions in NGOs, research institutes and law firms in Europe and Latin America.
Provides legal advice to national and international clients on matters related to the sustainability of projects, works and activities, including the representation of clients in litigation and environmental sanctioning investigations, the development of socio-environmental due diligence, processing environmental administrative authorizations before the environmental authorities, obtaining environmental tax benefits, counselling on ethnic-differential law and structuring sustainable projects and green businesses, with a focus on impact investment and ESG criteria, among others.
Guillermo holds a J.D and a Master´s in Law from the Universidad de los Andes (Colombia), an LL.M degree in Environmental and Energy Law (KU Leuven, Belgium), a postgraduate degree in Environmental Law (UFRGS, Brazil) and a postgraduate degree in Regulation of Electric Power and Gas (Externado de Colombia). Lecturer at several universities in Colombia, he is the author of several publications on environmental law, renewable energy and sustainability. In addition, he is a Designated Officer of the Environment, Health and Safety LAW Committee of the International Bar Association - IBA, founding member of the Latin American Alliance for Environmental Law and Sustainability - ALDAS, member of the Board of Directors of the Green Chamber of Commerce of Colombia , member of the Latin American Network of Impact Lawyers - RELAI, and associate of the Environmental Law Institute - ELI.
